Privacy policy

Kor is built so that your tax figures never leave your phone. This policy says what that means in practice.
What Kor stores
The figures you enter: your profile, salary, other income, investments, tax already paid and wealth statement. They are saved on this phone only, encrypted with a key held in the Android Keystore. Kor also keeps a few preferences, such as your reminder and theme choices.
What Kor does not do
Kor has no internet permission, so it cannot send anything over the network. It has no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting. We never receive your figures and have no way to see them.
Backups and new phones
Kor excludes its data from Android backup and device-to-device transfer. If you change phones, your figures do not move with you automatically. Uninstalling Kor or clearing its data deletes them for good.
Notifications
Deadline reminders are off until you turn them on. If you do, Kor asks for notification permission and schedules reminders on the phone. They name the deadline but never show an amount.
Copying and saving
When you tap a line on the e-return summary, Kor copies its amount to the clipboard, marked private on Android 13 and later. On older versions other apps may be able to read the clipboard. Save as PDF writes a file only where you choose, through Android's file picker. What happens to that file afterwards is up to you.
Links and email
The Website, Contact and privacy-policy web links open your browser or mail app. Kor itself sends nothing. Anything you email us is seen by us and handled by your mail provider, so please do not include real tax figures or identifiers.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new text ships with the app update and the date above changes. Any change that adds network access would be recorded in the changelog and README first. Questions: kor@azimulkabir.com, or kor.azimulkabir.com.
